PRIVATE PARTICIPATION CONCRETE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM (PPCRP)
PROGRAM PARTICIPATION REQUEST – 2017
Thank you for your interest in the Private Participation Concrete Replacement Program offered by the Village of Elk Grove Village. The Village’s Private Participation Concrete Replacement Program (PPCRP) allows property owners in the Village to use competitively bid prices to replace their existing driveway apron and/or adjacent curb. Each year the Village competitively bid a Concrete Replacement Program and the awarded bid prices will be extended to Village residents. The Public Works Department will administer the contract, complete the permit application and inspect the work to ensure that the work is in compliance with Village Codes and Standards. There are no warranties or guarantees with this program. Driveways, sidewalks, patios and other concrete work located on private property are not included in the program. The program does not allow for colored, stamped, special finishes and/or widening of the existing driveway.
How to Participate:
Step 1: The property owner must complete the request for quotation form online or call the Public Works Department at 847-734-8800. Completion of this request is not an obligation to participate in the Program. Request for quotations must be submitted by Friday, March 31, 2017.
Step 2: The Village will visit your property and measure the requested work. Then a proposal will be put together and e-mailed and/or hand delivered to your residence. The proposal will show the cost of the requested concrete work, additional work required, sketch of the work and permit fees. All Village required permits will be completed by Village Staff. (Permit fees are $40.00 for the driveway apron and an additional $30.00 if you are replacing the curb.)
Step 3: If you wish to proceed with the work as quoted please call or e-mail the Public Works Department by Friday, April 7, 2017. The Village will then process and send you and invoice.
Step 4: Submit full payment to the Village’s Finance Department at 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Payment must be received no later than Friday, April 21, 2017. Cancellation of work will not be accepted and all payment are non-refundable.
Step 5: Upon receipt of payment, the concrete driveway apron and/or curb replacement work will take place between May 1st and July 1st. You will be notified 48-hours in advance of the contractor preforming the work. Your driveway apron cannot be driven on for 5-7 days after the new concrete is poured. Construction operations are weather dependent and special date requests cannot be accommodated.
The role of the Village is to serve as an intermediary between you and the contractor. There are no contractor or Village warranties under this Program. However, as with all other work done within the Village, the work performed and the materials used by the contractor will be inspected by Village personnel to insure compliance with Village codes and material standards.
