When can I water my yard?
Effective May 1st through September 30th of each year, the Village restricts the use of water for outdoor purposes. All residential property owners are permitted to water outdoors between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Who maintains street lights?
Street lights in the Village are owned and maintained by Elk Grove. If you want to report a street light outage, please notify our Public Works Department at (847) 734-8800 or use the online service request system. Our Public Works Department will notify our contractor to make the repairs.
I have a sunken driveway apron. How can I get it replaced?
Driveway aprons are private property. They allow access from the public street to the individuals' private driveway and garage. As private property, aprons are the financial responsibility of the individual homeowner for maintenance or replacement.
Many owners of older homes have driveway aprons which have sunken over time. In other cases, driveway aprons are attached to older "rolled" style curbs, which create a dip when entering or leaving the driveway. The Village offers a Private Participation Concrete Replacement Program to assist residents in addressing these concerns.
This program pools private concrete work with municipal work so residents can obtain the Village's competitive bid pricing. Any resident desiring to participate in the program can contact the Community Development Department at (847) 357-4220.
