Elk Grove Farmers Market

The Elk Grove Farmer's Market will be held on Saturdays from June thru October, from 7:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Farmer's Market will be located by the Clock Tower on Municipal Grounds at 901 Wellington Avenue.
In addition to a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, breads, meats and baked goods, there will also be vendors featuring items such as salsas, flowers, nuts, honey, popcorn, doggie treats and more. There will also be special weekly activities, such as demonstrations and special theme events. Elk Grove Anniversary Festival

Play, picnic and party at this joint celebration for the Village’s 60th Anniversary & Park District’s 50th Anniversary! Enjoy a free concert by the Hat Guys! The event will feature free picnic games and entertainment, including a Village Touch-a-Truck event! The Park District will host 50 free activities for families to participate in, and the Library will hold their annual ice cream social. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food at family-friendly prices.

Perspectives: The Growth of Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Historical Museum Grounds, 399 Biesterffield
Celebrate the opening of the museum’s newest exhibit, Perspectives, with a relaxed afternoon on the museum grounds. A number of photographs, original artifacts, audio clips, and hands-on components connect visitors with how Elk Grove transformed over time. Visitors can also tour the historic farmhouse, engage in summer picnic games, and view vintage cars courtesy of the Triumph Car Club. Picnic lunches are welcome (alcohol prohibited) with food available for purchase (between 12:00 – 1:30 pm) to benefit the Elk Grove Historical Society. Holiday Tree Lighting

As a special treat in honor of the Village’s 60th Anniversary, the 2016 ceremony will feature a holiday performance by the Buckinghams.
Following the performance, the Buckinghams will join Mayor Johnson in throwing the switch to light up the holiday tree and turn on over 250,000 lights around the Municipal Complex, Elk Grove Public Library, Elk Grove Park District Pavilion, and on the Village's Holiday Tree, donated by the Free Family.
A special fireworks display will follow the tree lighting, announcing the entrance of Santa and his elves. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be provided.

Carnival of Exceptional Character

The Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove (CCC) is excited to celebrate Elk Grove Village’s 60th Anniversary and Elk Grove Park District’s 50th Anniversary by presenting a Carnival of Exceptional Character. CCC invites you to help kick off 2016 and these two landmark anniversaries by attending this family-friendly event that is free to the community, thanks to CCC’s partnership with Shinnyo-En Temple, the Elk Grove Park District, and Tasty Catering. Carnival style games and activities will keep the kids happy for hours. As families travel through the carnival booths they will learn about some of the wonderful community service groups that help to make Elk Grove Village an exceptional community with exceptional character!
Free games and prizes including: Plinko, Ring Toss, Bozo Buckets, Bounce House, Photo Flip Books, Dog Tags and more. Free food will be served while supplies last.

RotaryFest will kick off the summer season on Father’s Day weekend, Wednesday, June 15 through Sunday, June 19. There will once again be a large carnival, entertainment, and a great selection of food. RotaryFest offers free parking, free admittance and a smoke-free family environment.
This year’s concerts will include: Rob Post Band, 7th Heaven, Kashmir-the Led Zeppelin Experience, Suburban Cowboys, Mike & Joe, The Walkins, The Twisters, Rob Tuffcurls & The Benchpress, and Heartache TonightEagles Tribute Band. In addition to great live music, rides and games can be found at the carnival! RotaryFest will also include a Car Show on Friday.

Little Boots Rodeo
Saturday, June 25 & Sunday, June, 26, 2016
Hosted by the Little Boots Foundation, the annual Little Boots Rodeo provides children with the opportunity to participate in fun and interesting events in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Punch cards, which must be purchased to participate in rodeo events, includes a free hot dog and drink. After completing all events, children are certified as an official cowboy or cowgirl onstage, have their name announced over the speaker and receive a certificate.
