Memorial Day is a time to honor and recognize all men and women who have sacrificed their lives as a member of the United States Armed Forces.

Residents are invited to join in observance at the annual Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by Elk Grove Village, with the support of American Legion Post 216, VFW Post 9284 and its Ladies Auxiliary.

The ceremony will be held indoors, rain or shine, at 10:45 a.m. at the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion. The event will include Placing of Wreaths by community organizations, a flag-folding ceremony by the Police and Fire Honor Guard, as well as a gun salute and a performance by the Elk Grove Village Big Band. Refreshments will follow the ceremony.
