The Charles J. Zettek Municipal Complex was originally constructed in 1987.   The original building is home to the Finance Department, Community Development, Fire Administration, and the Council Chambers.

In 2009, the facility was expanded with the additional of Administration & Public Safety Complex which includes a Police Station, Community Services office, EGTV Channel 6 studio, Mayor & Board of Trustee offices, and Village Administration.

The Elk Grove Village Administration & Public Safety Complex achieved the gold status of certification established by the U.S. Green Building Council in The Leed Green Building Rating System and verified by The Green Building Certification Institute.

Hours of Operation:

The Elk Grove Village Police Station was dedicated in April 2009.  The Police Station is part of the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Complex and is located on the first floor, directly to your right once you enter the Municipal Complex.  For assistance, please go to the Police Information Center counter.  The Police Adminstration and Records Divisions are located on the second floor.

The James Paul Petri Public Works Facility was constructed in 2019. The building houses the Public Works Administration, the Water and Sewer Division, the Streets Division, and the Engineering Division. Additionally, the building was recognized as “Project of the Year” by the Chicago suburban branch of the American Public Works Association.

The Public Works Biesterfield Facility was renovated in 2019.  The building houses the Fleet Services Division and provides additional resources for snow and ice control. Additionally, the building was recognized as “Project of the Year” by the Chicago suburban branch of the American Public Works Association.

Fire Station 7 is the main headquarters station for the Elk Grove Village Fire Department. It is the primary responding station for residential and commercial properties east of Rt. 53 and west of Elk Grove Blvd. Squad 7 responds to an even greater geographical area to provide additional coverage in high call volume locations. Fire Station 7 offers school and community group tours and is the host station for public events. 

Note: Fire Station #7 is closed for renovation through mid-November 2020. NO FD PERSONNEL ARE ON SITE AT THIS TIME.

Fire Station 8 is the primary responding station for the Elk Grove Business Park and residential areas nearest the station. The location of the station was selected based on an extensive study of department responses and combines the staff and apparatus from two (2) former fire stations. Fire Station 8 was formally dedicated on May 18, 2019. At 21,000 sq. ft., the new station houses a majority of the department’s specialty equipment including a hazmat trailer, water rescue boats and equipment, and the motorized ventilation unit (MVU).

Also located on the property at 700 Fargo is the fire department’s training tower. This 11,000 sq. ft. 4-story masonry building contains multiple individually controlled gas-fire burn props and an integrated smoke system, allowing for realistic simulated fire scenarios. The building also provides for confined space training and technical rescue training from the rooftop.

Fire Station #8 was awarded the Silver Award for Satellite Fire Stations by Firehouse Magazine. The award recognizes outstanding architecture and design from Fire Departments nationwide.

Fire Station 10 is the primary responding station for Elk Grove Village areas west of Rt. 53. This new station was built upon the same land as the previous station and was formally dedicated on May 18, 2019. At an increased space of 16,000 sq. ft., the new station now houses the department’s Technical Rescue Trailer and Command Van along with its standard response vehicles.
