Elk Grove Village offers many transportation options.

Airports:

  • O’Hare International Airport is the largest airport in Illinois and is located on the Northeast side of Elk Grove Village. It is about a 20 minutes drive from the Village to the terminals.
  • Chicago Midway Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the continent. It is located 45 minutes from Elk Grove Village.
  • Schaumburg Regional Airport is the closest general aviation airport to O'Hare International Airport. It is located 10 minutes from Elk Grove Village and is easily accessible from I-290 via the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway.
  • Chicago Executive Airport (formerly known as Palwaukee) serves the general and business aviation sector, and is the third busiest airport in Illinois. It is located 20 minutes from Elk Grove Village.

Highways:
Elk Grove Village can be accessed by the following major roadways:

  • Illinois Tollway Authority: I-90/Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, I-355/North-South Tollway
  • Illinois Department of Transportation: I-290, Eisenhower Expressway Elgin-O’Hare Expressway, Illinois State Routes 53, 72, and 83

Bus Lines:
Pace is the transit provider of Chicago's suburbs. Pace serves Elk Grove Village riders with fixed bus routes, vanpools and Dial-a-Ride programs.

Railroads:
Elk Grove Village is served by several railroads, Union Pacific Railroad, Canadian Pacific Railroad and Chicago Terminal Railroad.

The Metra Rail System can be accessed in nearby communities along the Milwaukee District/West Line (MD-W) that goes from Chicago to Elgin and the Union Pacific/Northwest Line (UP-NW) which goes from Chicago to Harvard.

Elk Grove Village is nearest to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line on the “L” Train. The nearest stop is Rosemont which contains parking.
