Message from the Finance Director
The Finance Department is responsible for the fiscal oversight and financial management of the Village. Specifically, this includes cash management and investments, risk management, budgeting, and debt administration. Major responsibilities consist of revenue collection and disbursement of funds. Revenue administration and collection includes licensing, fines, fees, utility services and local taxes. The Director of Finance is the Village’s Chief Financial Officer and serves as the Village Treasurer as well as Treasurer of the Fire and Police Pension Funds.
The Finance Department is dedicated to providing residents and businesses with exceptional government financial management. The strength of Elk Grove's financial standing is demonstrated through the Village's municipal bond rating of AA+ by Standard & Poor's Investor Services. This favorable bond rating within the community is indicative of the financial strength, conservative budget practices and economic stability. Additionally, the Finance Department’s commitment to financial excellence has been recognized nationally by the Government Finance Officers Association, which has presented the department with the Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 38 consecutive years.
Divisions
The Finance Department is comprised of 3 specialized divisions (Administration, Accounting, and Billing/Receivables), each of which performs functions essential to the financial well-being of the Village. Staffing within the Department is comprised of 16 full-time personnel.
Hours of Operation
The Finance Department is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
