Many of the priorities of Elk Grove Village are heavily influenced by the outcome of county, state and federal legislation. Elected representatives tend to be most responsive to constituents that are organized, persuasive, and persistent. The Village relies mostly on the actions of local legislators and coalitions like those listed below to advance legislative priorities and protect its interests.
Village Board members and staff participate in a variety of professional organizations and intergovernmental cooperatives. At times, these groups may take positions on specific legislative issues that have a direct impact on their membership or the stated goals of the organization and actively lobby on behalf of the village and other members.
