Elk Grove Village is home to the Elk Grove Village Park District. It is a separate government entity with numerous opportunities for residents.
The Elk Grove Park District maintains approximately 473 acres, including 44 parks, 19 public tennis courts and a community athletic field that includes football, soccer and baseball fields. In addition, residents and visitors have access to the Jack A. Claes Pavilion, which includes a 28-foot carousel, indoor playground, Fitness Center, banquet room, arts and crafts room, dance studio, racquetball courts, 2 gymnasiums, indoor and 2 outdoor swimming pools.
The Park District also operates the Sheila Ray Adult Center, a Preschool, Rainbow Falls Waterpark, Pirates' Cove Children's Theme Park, Fox Run Golf Course and Driving Range, The Elk Grove Historical Museum and the Rainbow Falls Community Center.

When in Elk Grove, residents and visitors also have access to the Busse Woods Forest Preserve which contains an 11.2 mile pedestrian and bicycling path that encompasses the forest preserve. This forest preserve is also home to Busse Lake, a 590 acre lake, where residents and visitors can try catching a northern pike at one of the six fishing walls. There is also a herd of elk located near the entrance at Arlington Heights Road and Higgins Road.
