Elk Grove Village officials are asking residents to provide their feedback at an open house event next week on four different Elk Grove Woods Plaza development plans submitted to the Village by developers.
The Village issued a request for proposals to developers in September to identify a partner who will work with the Village to transform the aging Elk Grove Woods Plaza shopping center located on the southeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Higgins Road into a vibrant, mixed-use, residential and commercial development that will serve as a gateway to the community. The Village has received proposals from four development teams, which will be on display a next week’s events.
At the open house, residents have an opportunity to review and provide comments on the four submissions, which will include site plans, renderings and narrative descriptions of the developers’ vision for the project. The open house event will take place on Wednesday, November 9, from 6 to 8 pm at the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Residents are welcome to drop by at any time during the event.
The Mayor and Board will be in attendance to hear feedback from residents. Village staff will also be on hand to answer questions and provide residents an opportunity to give written feedback on each of the four proposals.
“This open house is an opportunity for residents to share their thoughts about the proposed redevelopment plans. We encourage everyone to stop by and provide their input,” said Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson. “We’ll take all the feedback we receive and consider it as we decide which developer will make the best partner to create this new gateway for our community.”
