Notice of Public Hearing on a Pre-Annexation Agreement, Right of Way Vacation, and the Proposed Annexation of Territory by the Elk Grove Village Board of Trustees, Elk Grove Village, Illinois

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A PRE-ANNEXATION AGREEMENT,
RIGHT OF WAY VACATION, AND THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY BY
THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILLINOIS

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 6:45 p.m., the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, in the Council Chambers of the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, will hold a public hearing pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-15.1-3, to consider a pre-annexation agreement, and pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-91-1 to consider a proposed vacation of the Roppolo Drive, Lee Lane, and Vera Lane rights of way located within Roppolo’s Landmeier Subdivision and generally located north of Landmeier Road and south of (but including) Vera Lane in Elk Grove Village, and thereafter at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees will consider the passage of ordinances authorizing the pre-annexation agreement, the annexation of certain contiguous territory to the Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and the vacation of the rights of way set forth above.

The property which is the subject of the pre-annexation agreement and potential annexation is contiguous to the Village of Elk Grove Village, is not within the corporate boundaries of any municipality and consists of approximately 36.2 acres located in unincorporated Cook County, and is identified and legally described as follows:

It is proposed that the property subject to annexation will be zoned I-1 Restricted Industrial and will be consolidated for future development.  An accurate map of the subject property proposed to be annexed to the Village and the form of the proposed pre-annexation agreement are on file with the Village Clerk and may be inspected during regular business hours.  You are further notified that the form of the proposed pre-annexation agreement may be changed, altered, modified, amended or redrafted in its entirety after the public hearing. 

All persons appearing at said public hearing will be afforded an opportunity to be heard.  Written comments may be submitted to the attention of the Village Clerk, c/o Elk Grove Village Hall, at the address aforesaid or by email at lmurphy@elkgrove.org, and will be considered if received at least five (5) days prior to the hearing.  Such public hearing may be continued from time to time by the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Elk Grove Village without further notice, except as may be required by the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
