In 2021, the State of Illinois enacted Public Act 102-0265 – Property Tax – Vendor Report. This law requires that any taxing district with a property tax levy of more than $5,000,000 must make a good faith effort to collect and electronically publish data as to whether vendors and subcontractors doing business with the taxing district are minority-, women-, or veteran-owned businesses. The Village of Elk Grove Village is included in this requirement. In addition, the Village considers disability-owned businesses in the reporting.

As of August 2022, the Village has records for 1,062 vendors and 34 subcontractors for a total of 1,096 businesses. The Village sent a letter to active entities to explain the law and procedure for reporting.

Fifty-four vendors and subcontractors have self-reported that they are either a minority-, women-, disability-, or veteran-owned business. There are 1,048 remaining business that have either not yet reported or do not meet the requirements to be classified under the P.A. 102-0265. The ownership status report is available here.

If you are an active vendor with a change in status to report, please complete the Ownership Status Form and e-mail it to AP@elkgrove.org, along with applicable certifications.
