Residents and businesses are billed every month with charges based on actual water consumption unless a meter signal transmission is not functioning correctly. Bills are due on the 20th of the month.

There are several convenient options available for water/sewer bill payment:

1. Automatic Bill Payment
   
   The Village offers a free automatic bill payment option where the amount of your monthly water/sewer bill is automatically debited from your checking account. Customers will continue to receive an account statement by mail; however your amount paid will show as "Bank Draft - Do Not Pay." The payment will be deducted from your checking account on the billing due date.
   
   Sign up for EFT Automatic Bill Payments via the WaterSmart portal. To learn how to get started view our Auto Pay Navigation Guide or contact the Finance Department - Water/Sewer Billing Division, at (847) 357-4060. If your enrollment request was submitted fewer than five days before your due date, you may be required to make a one‐time payment. Electronic submissions can also be made here. 
    
   We also accept the Auto Pay application in paper form. Please note using this method may take up to two (2) billing cycles before ACH becomes active. 
   
   
2. Online with E-Check or Debit/Credit Card
   
   One-time online payments are available through your CSS account portal. To learn how to make an e-check or debit/credit card payment or create a CSS account view our Self-Service Guide. 
   
   
3. Pay by Phone
   
   Payments by phone are accepted through our interactive payment system by dialing 847-871-9232.
   
   When calling to pay a water bill, the payment system will need your Account Number and Customer Number located at the top right corner of your bill. Payments can be made using electronic check or debit/credit card.

5. Municipal Building Drop Box
   
   A drop box is available 24-hours a day at the Municipal Building for residents to pay their bill. The Municipal Building Drop Box is located on the left wall outside of the entrance to the Municipal Building.
