Elk Grove Village issues citations for disregarding traffic control devices monitored by red light cameras. The citation will be issued to the vehicle owner if that vehicle fails to stop and remain stopped before an intersection that is controlled by a red signal. Additionally, a failure to stop and at an intersection with a permitted right turn on red will be a violation if the vehicle does not come to a complete stop.

Vehicle owners will be issued a citation notice with a link to a website that permits viewing of the violation via the Internet. Vehicle owners can also request a hearing date to contest the violation.

Contesting a Violation

Contest by Mail - by checking the "Contest by Mail" box on the ticket and mailing the form back using the self addressed envelope.

In-Person Hearing - by checking the "In-Person Hearing" box on the ticket and mailing the form back using the self addressed envelope.

Please Note: In-Person Hearings are held at Elk Grove Village Fire Administration Building, located at the Charles Zettek Municipal Complex, 901 Wellington, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.

Camera Locations

The Elk Grove Village Police Department continues to focus on safety for drivers and pedestrians using Village streets and intersections. Red Light Camera Enforcement Programs are designed to improve intersection safety and positively change driver behavior. The following locations are where cameras have been placed and are operating:

Southbound Busse Rd. at Oakton Street
Westbound Oakton Street at Busse Road
Northbound Busse at Devon Ave.
Southbound Busse at Devon Ave.
Westbound Higgins Road at Arlington Heights Road
Northbound Rohlwing Rd. at Biesterfield Rd.
Eastbound Biesterfield Rd. at I-290 Entrance ramp (westside)
Eastbound Landmeier Rd. at Higgins Rd.
Eastbound/Westbound Nerge Rd. at Rohlwing Rd.
