Village-wide Large Branch Collection Occurs September 16, 2024

The Village appreciates our resident’s efforts to maintain their property and recognizes that disposing of tree debris from winter cleanup may be difficult. Therefore, the Public Works Department has a Fall Large Branch Collection Program to assist residents.  This program will now start at the same time for both the east and west sides of the Village.

Important Large Branch Collection Program Rules

• Large branches 3 ½ to 8 inches in diameter from all trees and bushes, except evergreens are eligible for pick-up (Not bundled with twine).
  
  

• Residents MUST Contact Public Works Department to get their address listed for pickup through via phone or online service request.

  1. Phone: Residents MUST Contact Public Works at (847) 734-8800 Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to get your address listed for pickup. Calls must be received no later than Friday, September 13, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. 
     
     
  2. Online: Click here. Requests must be received no later than Friday, September 13, at 4:00 PM.
     
     
• Branches must be stacked in the parkway with cut ends pointing towards the curb.
  
  
• Branches should be placed in the parkway no sooner than the weekend before the designated pickup week.
  
  
• The following items are NOT part of the collection program: logs, lumber, paneling, bushes, stumps, and evergreens as these items damage Village equipment. Please contact Groot at (847) 734-6400 for pickup guidelines regarding these items.

Homeowners are reminded that the Groot Yard Waste Program includes the removal of bagged yard waste April 1 through December 15. Branches must be bundled with biodegradable twine or string. Branches up to 3 ½ inches in diameter and no more than 4 feet in length or over 50 pounds in weight will be picked up by Groot FREE of charge. Please note that using yard waste bags require the purchase of a yard waste sticker.
