This project will include pavement resurfacing of Biesterfield Road/Wise Road from Meacham Road to the Village limits including selective pavement patching, drainage structure improvements, and curb and gutter replacement. In addition, the Village will improve pedestrian signals, crosswalks, and ADA ramps at the intersection of Biesterfield Road and Michigan Lane.

Project Updates

November 4, 2022: This week, the contractor completed the asphalt work and installed pavement markings. Next week, the contractor will install the decorative crosswalks and begin punch list work.

October 28, 2022: This week, the contractor installed detector loops at the signalized intersection and prepared to pave the surface course within the project limits. Next week, will complete the asphalt work, install pavement markings, and begin punch list work.

October 21, 2022: This week, the contractor completed pavement patches and placed asphalt level binder on Biesterfield Road. Final drainage structure adjustments and landscaping also continued this week. Next week, the contractor will install detector loops for the traffic signals and pave the final asphalt surface lift on the roadway.

October 7, 2022: This week, the contractor began milling the asphalt pavement from the west limits to Meacham Road. Additional work included electrical work at the intersection of Biesterfield/Wise. Next week, the contractor will begin full depth patches as needed throughout the limits of the project and prepare for asphalt resurfacing by the end of the week.

September 30, 2022: This week, the contractor completed drainage structure adjustments and poured concrete curb and gutter gaps and sidewalk. Next week, electrical work at the intersection of Biesterfield/Wise and Michigan Lane will begin as the contractor will prepare to mill and patch Biesterfield Road from Meacham Road to the west Village limits.

September 23, 2022: This week, the contractor removed selective curb and gutter and driveways in addition to the sidewalk at the intersection of Biesterfield/Wise and Michigan Lane. Next week, the contractor will prepare to pour back curb and gutter, driveways, and sidewalk removed this week. The final curbline structure adjustments are also expected to occur next week.

September 16, 2022: This week, the contractor completed saw cutting for curb, driveway, and sidewalk removals, transferred traffic signal maintenance, and performed drainage structure adjustments on Biesterfield Road from Meacham Road to the west Village limits. Next week, the contractor will begin the removal of curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveways.

September 9, 2022: This week, the contractor installed advanced construction warning signs and began saw cutting for curb and driveway removals on Biesterfield Road from Meacham Road to the west Village limits. Next week, the contractor will begin curb and driveway removals, perform storm sewer adjustments, and transfer maintenance of traffic signals. 

September 2, 2022: Next week, the contractor is expected to mobilize and begin preconstruction activities along Biesterfield Road from Meacham Road to the west Village limits.
