Project Description
The construction activities for the business park resurfacing program are generally broken down into four phases:
Phase I (Storm Sewer) – Necessary repairs and/or modifications are made to the drainage structures along these roadways.
Phase II (Concrete) – Replacement of deteriorated curbs and sidewalks throughout the project area takes place. This work is generally limited to one side of the street at a time.
Phase III (Pavement) – The final phase includes full depth pavement patching, milling of the existing pavement surface, paving the new asphalt surface and the painting of pavement markings. Friendly reminder: A tack-coat of fresh oil is applied prior to laying the new pavement layer as an adhesive or bonding agent between the asphalt layers. Fresh oil signage will be posted in advance to remind motorist to travel slowly on the tack-coat material.
Phase IV (Restoration) – Final restoration of all disturbed areas to be completed.
The following 2.9 miles of roadways in the Business Park are anticipated to be resurfaced starting in June and completed by mid-September:
- Arthur Avenue, Elmhurst Road to Busse Road
- Bonnie Lane, Howard Street to Landmeier Road
- Lunt Avenue, Elmhurst Road to Busse Road
- Nicholas Boulevard, Higgins Road to Landmeier Road
- Nicholas Boulevard, Devon Avenue to Arthur Avenue
