Project Description
This project will include complete sidewalk replacement and widening on the east side of Meacham Road from I-390 to Texas Street. Additional improvements include enhanced crosswalks, new pedestrian signals, ADA upgrades, driveway replacements, and landscape enhancements along the east parkway.
Project Updates
November 4, 2022: This week, the asphalt patches behind commercial driveways and Haar Lane and Roosa Lane. Next week, final landscaping and pavement markings will be placed and punch list work will continue.
October 28, 2022: This week, the contractor completed forming and pouring the remaining commercial driveway aprons. Landscaping work including topsoil placement and planting perennials, shrubs, and trees continued this week. The pedestrian signals and push buttons were also installed this week. Next week, the commercial driveways poured last week will receive asphalt and be opened to traffic. Final landscaping and pavement markings will be placed and punch list work will begin.
October 21, 2022: This week, the contractor poured the approach to Cindy Lane and continued forming and pouring commercial driveway aprons. Landscaping work including topsoil placement and planting perennials, shrubs, and trees began. Next week, Cindy Lane will be opened to traffic and the remaining commercial driveway aprons will be closed, removed, and constructed. Landscaping work will continue through next week.
October 7, 2022: This week, the contractor completed drainage structure adjustments and graded the stone base for the commercial driveways. The contractor will begin framing the removed driveways at the end of this week. Next week, the contractor will pour concrete at Haar Drive and the commercial driveways.
September 30, 2022: This week, the contractor completed pouring concrete for the widened sidewalk, opened Roosa Lane access from Meacham Road, closed Haar Drive access from Meacham Road, and began removal of Haar Drive and commercial driveways. Next week, the contractor will prepare, form and pour concrete at Haar Drive and commercial driveways.
September 23, 2022: This week, the contractor began pouring the new widened concrete sidewalk from the south end at I-390 moving north. Additional work included the removal and replacement of the concrete approach at Roosa Lane and the removal of commercial driveways. New week, the contractor will continue pouring the widened sidewalk and prepare commercial driveways for concrete.
September 16, 2022: This week, the contractor completed excavating and grading for the widened sidewalk on the east side of Meacham Road from I-390 to Texas Street. The stone base placement continues with framing crews starting today and into next week. The contractor is expected to complete stone base placement and begin pouring concrete for the widened sidewalk from I-390 to Texas Street gapping the side streets and driveways.
September 9, 2022: This week, the contractor continued excavating, grading, and placing the stone base for the widened sidewalk on the east side of Meacham Road from I-390 to Texas Street. Next week, the contractor is expected to continue placing and compacting the stone base for the sidewalk widening and begin utility structure adjustments. Temporary daytime lane closures on northbound Meacham Road will be in place for the ongoing stone placement work.
September 2, 2022: This week, the contractor completed removal of the existing sidewalk and began excavating and grading for the widened sidewalk at the I-390 westbound Frontage Road working north. Next week, the contractor is expected to continue excavating and grading for the proposed sidewalk widening and placing the stone base. Temporary daytime lane closures on northbound Meacham Road will be in place for the upcoming sidewalk grading and stone placement work.
August 26, 2022: This week, the contractor completed tree removal, installation of erosion control measures, and drainage structure adjustments. Additional work included saw cutting at side streets and commercial aprons and the removal of the existing sidewalk. Next week, the contractor is expected to complete sidewalk removal and begin grading and placing stone for the wider sidewalk on the east side of Meacham Road. Temporary daytime lane closures will be in place for the upcoming sidewalk removal and grading work.
August 19, 2022: This week, the contractor mobilized and began the installation of erosion control and tree protection measures. Next week, work includes tree removal, saw cutting, and sidewalk removal on the east side of Meacham Road between I-390 and Texas Street. Temporary daytime lane closures will be in place for the upcoming sidewalk removal work.
August 18, 2022: Starting Friday, August 19, construction will begin along the east parkway of Meacham Road from Interstate 390 (I-390) to Texas Street. Improvements include sidewalk removal and widening, enhanced crosswalks, driveway apron replacements, and landscape enhancements. Please be cautious when traveling through the work zone as temporary daytime lane closures will be in place while construction is occurring.
August 12, 2022: Last week, a preconstruction meeting was held to discuss the proposed schedule for construction. At the end of next week, the contractor will mobilize and begin layout removals of sidewalk, driveway aprons, and side streets on the east side of Meacham Road.
