Project Description
This spring, the Village will resume rear yard drainage improvements in an effort to enhance stormwater drainage along the property line through the installation of storm sewer underdrains and inlets. All work will be performed within the public utility and drainage easements. Following the installation of the underdrain, the contractor will restore the area by regarding and putting down topsoil and sod. Due to limited access after sod restoration, residents are requested to water the sodding area.
Project Updates
October 25, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing sod for all locations on this year’s list. Next week, the contractor will continue watering where the sod was placed this week.
October 11, 2024: This week, Prime Construction continued installing sod and watering the recently placed sod. Next week, the contractor will continue installing sod and reinstalling fences at the remaining sites.
October 4, 2024: This week, Prime Construction began installing sod at the remaining sites. The rear yards of Meegan Way and the rear yards between Gateshead North and Gateshead South received sod. Next week, the contractor will continue installing sod and reinstalling fences.
September 27, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed the pipe and inlet installation on Cooper Court. Next week, the contractor will begin sod installation at the seven site locations awaiting final restoration.
September 20, 2024: This week, Prime Construction began installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Cooper Court. Next week, the contractor will complete Cooper Court and begin laying sod.
August 30, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Grassmere Road and Avon Road. They also prepared the ground for sod. Next week, the contractor will prepare previous locations for sod and begin the final location between the rear yards of Cooper Court.
August 23, 2024: This week, Prime Construction continued installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Grassmere Road and Avon Road. Next week, the contractor will shape the swale and begin prepping areas for sod.
August 16, 2024: This week, Prime Construction began installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Grassmere Road and Avon Road. Next week, the contractor will continue working their way west towards Penrith Avenue installing pipe and inlets.
August 9, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Meegan Way and Volkamer Trail. Next week, the contractor will mobilize to the eighth location, which is between the rear yards of Grassmere Road and Avon Road.
August 2, 2024: This week, Prime Construction began installing pipe and inlets at the seventh location between the rear yards of Meegan Way and Volkamer Trail. Next week, the contractor will continue working their way south towards Kathleen Way.
July 26, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing pipe and inlets at the sixth location between the rear yards of Gateshead North and Gateshead South. The yards will be prepped for sod in the fall. Next week, the contractor will begin the seventh location of the rear yards between the south end of Meegan Way and Volkamer Trail.
July 19, 2024: This week, Prime Construction moved to the sixth location between the rear yards of Gateshead North and Gateshead South. They installed the pipe and inlets heading east from the storm sewer connection point. Next week, the contractor will between the rear yards between Gateshead North and Gateshead South at the west end.
July 12, 2024: This week, Prime Construction moved to the fifth location between the rear yards of Brantwood Drive and Milbeck Avenue. They installed the pipe and inlets and shaped the swale and area around the pipe. Next week, the contractor will begin the sixth location of the rear yards between Gateshead North and Gateshead South.
June 28, 2024: This week, Prime Construction moved to the fourth location in the rear yards between Spruce Lane, Elmwood Lane, and Ridge Avenue. They installed the stormwater pipe and drainage inlets, then shaped the drainage swale and the area around the pipe. Next week, the contractor will be off-site before beginning the fourth location of the rear yards between Brantwood Drive and Milbeck Avenue the week of July 8.
June 21, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing pipe and inlets in the rear yards between Mimosa Lane and Ridge Avenue. Next week, the contractor will prepare the yards with landscape fabric until sod can be installed during cooler temperatures. Prime will also relocate to the fourth location for this year’s program, between Elmwood Lane and Ridge Avenue at Spruce Lane.
June 14, 2024: This week, Prime Construction continued installing pipe and inlets in the rear yards between Mimosa Lane and Peach Tree Lane. Next week, the contractor will continue installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Mimosa Lane and Ridge Avenue.
June 7, 2024: This week, Prime Construction installed pipe and inlets in the rear yards between Mimosa Lane and Peach Tree Lane. Next week, the contractor will continue east installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Mimosa Lane and Peach Tree Lane before heading north at the bend at Ridge Avenue.
May 31, 2024: This week, Prime Construction installed sod and re-erected fences for the rear yards between Shadywood Lane and Germaine Lane. They also mobilized material and installed temporary fence for the first few yards at the third location of improvement, the rear yards between Mimosa Lane and Peach Tree Lane. Next week, the contractor will begin installing pipe and inlets between the rear yards of Mimosa Lane and Peach Tree Lane.
May 24, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing pipe and inlets in the rear yards between Germaine Lane and Shadywood Lane. Additionally, they graded and shaped the swale and surrounding areas to better drain to the newly installed inlets. Next week, the contractor will prepare for sod and clean up the construction areas.
May 17, 2024: This week, Prime Construction continued installing pipe and inlets in the rear yards between Germaine Lane and Shadywood Lane. Additionally, they laid sod in the rear yards of Location #1, Germaine Place/Thorndale Avenue and also restored the asphalt patch across the sewer crossing on Germaine Lane. Next week, the contractor will continue to head east installing perforated pipe and inlets.
May 10, 2024: This week, Prime Construction connected into the storm sewer system on the south side of Germaine Lane and installed pipe crossing the road to the north side of Germaine Lane. They then installed pipe to the rear yards between Germaine Lane and Shadywood Lane. Next week, the contractor will install perforated pipe and inlets heading east.
May 3, 2024: This week, Prime Construction completed installing inlets and perforated pipe between the rear yards of Germaine Place and Thorndale Road. Next week, they will begin work on the 2nd location between the rear yards of Germaine Lane and Shadywood Lane. Work will begin by connecting into the storm sewer system on the south side of Germaine Lane and crossing the road to the north side of Germaine Lane. The road will be closed during the operation of installing the pipe across the street.
April 26, 2024: This week, Prime Construction began the 2024 Residential Rear Yard Drainage program by installing inlets and perforated pipe between the rear yards of Germaine Place and Landmeier Road. Next week, they will continue around Germaine Place cul-de-sac and between the rear yards of Thorndale Avenue.
April 19, 2024: Next week, Prime Construction will begin the 2024 Residential Rear Yard Drainage program. Work will begin with the installation of inlets and perforated pipe between the rear yards of Germaine Place and Landmeier Road/Thorndale Avenue. This project will begin with connecting into the storm inlet in the rear easement of 509 Germaine Place and continuing east around the cul-de-sac.
