The 2022 Village Sustainability Report is a summary of current Village activities and programs pertaining to sustainability.

Sustainability is the balance between environmental, economic, and community health. Sustainability is also defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Each of the activities and programs listed in the Village Sustainability Report contribute to improving the health of the environment, local economy, and community in Elk Grove Village.

This report uses objectives defined in the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Greenest Region Compact as a framework to evaluate the progress Elk Grove Village has made towards sustainability.

Sustainable actions are grouped into 10 categories:

Climate Mobility
Economic Development Municipal Operations
Energy Sustainable Communities
Land Waste & Recycling
Leadership  Water
